Our work begins with the horse. At the heart of our mission is a deep commitment to rescuing and retiring horses who have been deemed “no longer useful” due to injury, illness, or age. These horses come to us for a soft landing and a caring forever home, where they are seen not for what they can produce, but for who they are. Their well-being, dignity, and quality of life are our first priority, always.

Horses as Partners

When a horse is ready, they may choose to become a partner in our equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning programs. At Bella Terra Stables, horses are never treated as tools or props. They are respected as sentient, intuitive beings who bring wisdom, presence, and authenticity into every session. Our programs are built around honoring the horse’s voice and boundaries, allowing true partnership to develop between horse and human.
